What is AWANA?

West Cohasset Chapel AWANA Clubs meet Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:45 PM September-May.

WCC AWANA focuses on scripture memorization as a tool to help your child grow in their understanding of  Biblical concepts and their faith in Jesus Christ.

A typical evening at AWANA begins in the Sanctuary with the Opening Ceremony.  After opening time, the groups divide into their rooms for book time, game time and snacks, followed by Council Time in the Sanctuary (for T&Ts) and Green Meadow Time (for Sparks).

What is the Cost?

The cost for AWANA is $10/child per year (except Puggles).  This fee covers a t-shirt, book and award for the year.

Where Should I bring My Child?

Seedlings (ages 3-5) meet in the Preschool Room.

Sparks (Kindergarten-2nd Grade) Start in the Sanctuary.

Your child’s safety during AWANA is of utmost importance to us.

We require that all of our volunteers fill out an application and complete a background check prior to serving.

For the safety of all children, we ask that you come into the building to pick up your children at the end of the evening.

AWANA will be cancelled if school is dismissed early or cancelled.  Cancellation information will be sent out via e-mail to all families who have provided an e-mail contact.  The information will also be posted on the AWANA Facebook Page.

We urge you to use your best judgement when making the decision to drive to AWANA even if it is not cancelled.

Men’s Book Study

The Men’s Book Study allows men to grow spiritually and in relationships with each other in a small group setting.  The Men’s Book Study meets Wednesdays from September – May from 6:30-8 PM at WCC.

This year Dale Geisler will be leading the book study: Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper.

Women’s Book Study

The purpose of the West Cohasset Chapel Women’s Ministry is to provide women with an opportunity to mature in their faith in Christ and in their relationships with one another, in a trusting setting where women know themselves loved and can be open, honest and vulnerable because of what Christ has accomplished at the cross.  The Women’s Book Study meets Wednesdays from September – May from 6:30-8 PM in Room 101 at WCC.  Led by the Women’s Ministry Chris Orhn.

This year’s book is: When I Lay My Isaac Down: Unshakable Faith in Unthinkable Circumstances by Carol Kent.
