The Audio/Visual Ministry provides technical support during the services by running the sound system, projecting the slides for music and recording the sermon. They serve a vital role on Sunday mornings, ensuring that we are able to worship together and that the sermon is heard and recorded.
Autos is a young adult ministry for adults ages 18 to around 30. Autos was developed as an answer to the need at WCC for young adults to be connected to the body of Christ. It focuses on what Acts 2:42-47 calls us to as Christians. For more information on the Autos Ministry, click here.
The AWANA Ministry serves children ages 0 – 6th grade and uses Scripture memorization as a tool to help them grow in their understanding of Biblical concepts as well as to see them grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. Our Baptism Ministry helps to affirm a candidate’s desire to be baptized. They also set up and serve the potluck meal at the Family Day at the Lake event where the baptism celebration is held. For more information on baptism at WCC, click here.
Children’s Church serves the young children in our congregation and their families by offering age-appropriate Biblical instruction during our 10:30AM worship service. After the worship portion of the service, children ages 3 through Kindergarten gather in the preschool room to learn from the Bible at their level, do a hands-on project and have a small snack.
The Christian Education Ministry oversees the educational ministries of West Cohasset Chapel, including Sunday Morning Bible Classes, Book Studies, Home Groups, Children’s Church, AWANA, Youth Group and Nursery.
Coffee & Connections is a time to fellowship with other WCCers! Coffee & Connections starts at 10:00AM, in between Sunday Morning Bible Classes and the 10:30 AM Worship Service. Volunteers in this ministry serve doughnuts, juice, coffee and other hot beverages from the kitchen.
The Deacon/Deaconess Board is made up of six WCC members who are appointed by the Elder Board and voted on by the members of WCC. It is a board that oversees WCC’s financial facets, Benevolence Ministry and the maintenance of the church building and grounds. The Deacon/Deaconess Board meets monthly.
The Decorating Ministry works to create a welcoming, accommodating atmosphere at WCC through the presentation of our facility, furnishings and decor. They coordinate seasonal decorations for the common areas and sanctuary and make sure our facility is warm and inviting to all who enter.
The Elder Board is made up of usually 6 WCC men (plus the WCC Pastor). Board members are appointed by the current Elder Board members and voted on by the members of WCC. It is a leadership board that oversees the general direction of the Church. They are men who are devoted to prayer, the study of God’s Word and sustain a caring ministry over God’s Church. Home Groups meet year round and offer an opportunity for small group Bible study, prayer and relationship-building. The meetings last typically an hour and a half, and childcare is provided for small children during the studies. For more information on Home Groups, click here.
The purpose of the Kitchen Ministry of West Cohasset Chapel is to serve others, as Christ, through the ministry of hospitality. Our Kitchen Ministry coordinates volunteers for congregational meals, serves as a resource to other ministries using the kitchen, keeps our kitchen stocked with supplies and plans for future needs within the kitchen.
Our Library is a resource to the congregation, providing books and media that promote spiritual growth. The Library is open to all attendees of West Cohasset Chapel. For more information on the Library, click here.
The West Cohasset Chapel Meals Ministry provides meals for congregation members and attendees in times of need such as the birth or adoption of a new baby, death of a loved one, extended illness or surgery. The Men’s Ministry exists to create opportunities for men of all ages to receive encouragement and spiritual care through God’s Word and His people. With God and His Word as our authority, our hope is to see a growing number of men who are increasingly reflecting their union with Christ at home, work, in the church and the different places God has put us. The purpose of the West Cohasset Chapel Missions Ministry is to promote the fulfillment of the great commission and to fulfill the Scriptural mandate for missions by promoting evangelism. The Missions Ministry keeps the congregation informed of our supported missionaries’ needs and ministries. They also select new missionaries and organizations for the congregation to support as well as provide support for short-term missions trips for individuals within our congregation. Our Nursery cares for children ages 0-3 during our services. Our goal is to allow families to worship together while providing safe, age-appropriate care for infants and toddlers. The Personnel Ministry works to research and determine the non-pastoral staffing needs of the congregation. They also review and update job descriptions of ministry leaders and team members, facilitate annual performance reviews for paid positions and continually review the needs of the congregation as it pertains to paid positions.
The West Cohasset Chapel Prayer E-Mail Ministry provides a means by which prayer requests can be submitted and communicated to the congregation. Prayer requests are sent out primarily via email to all the members of the prayer e-mail listing as soon as they are received. Hitting the ball, running the bases, catching those line drives – the Softball Ministry ministers the love of Jesus Christ to players on and off the field! If you’re interested in tossing the ball around, join the WCC’s Men’s Church League Softball Team. They play Monday evenings during the summer.
The purpose of the Special Needs Ministry of West Cohasset Chapel is to create an environment where individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers, can fully participate in public worship as well as the other ministries of WCC by providing individual mentoring and teaching. In addition, the Special Needs Ministry works to provide opportunities for individuals to serve in a meaningful way within the body of Christ. The WCC Usher Ministry is servant-focused and works to meet the needs of the congregation by greeting, opening doors, directing people, distributing worship folders and seating people.
The Welcome Ministry seeks to welcome and connect with people in a meaningful way to lower and remove the potential barriers that can harm the gospel message of Jesus Christ during the worship service. Welcome Ministry volunteers oversee the Welcome Center before and after the service, providing resources to guests and newcomers of the congregation.
The purpose of the West Cohasset Chapel Women’s Ministry is to provide women with an opportunity to mature in their faith in Christ and in their relationships with one another, in a trusting setting where women know themselves loved and can be open, honest and vulnerable because of what Christ has accomplished at the cross. The Women’s Ministry hosts a Girl’s Night Out every other month, coordinates the Women’s Book Study on Wednesday evenings (September-May) and also plans an annual Women’s Retreat. The goal of our Youth Ministry is to energize and equip youth: to know, live and share their faith in Jesus. We do this through Bible study, prayer, worship and building relationships. Wednesday evening Youth Group utilizes a comprehensive six year curriculum that helps students build a Christ-centered life. Youth Group meets 6:15-7:45 PM, September-May. On Sunday mornings, Bible classes are available for grades 7-9, and 10-12 graders are encouraged to attend the adult Bible classes. For more information on the Youth Ministry, click here.
