Purpose StatementThe purpose of the Special Needs Ministry of West Cohasset Chapel (WCC) is to create an environment where individuals with disabilities and their caregivers can fully participate in public worship as well as the other ministries of WCC
Our desire is for every person to have the opportunity and privilege to participate in the public worship of Jesus Christ, removing every physical barrier possible. We understand that this can be challenging for families and individuals with special needs.
In addition, we want to offer opportunities for individuals with disabilities to serve in a meaningful way within the body of Christ.
With those needs on our hearts and by God’s grace, our Special Needs Ministry was born.
The first step is a meeting with our Special Needs Coordinator (SNC). The SNC will create an Individual Ministry Plan designed so the individual with disabilities and their caregivers can participate in public worship as well as other ministries that WCC offers.
After approval by caregivers, the Individual Ministry Plan (IMP) will be implemented. The IMP will also be subject to a six month review process and will be updated as needed.
Our goal is to make our building completely accessible to individuals with disabilities. Please click here to fill out a form and we will work to address your request.
What are Peer Mentors?
Peer Mentors are individuals whose ministry is to work one on one with a person with disabilities. Peer Mentors may help guide the individual through the worship service, assist during Bible Classes, or Children’s Church, or be available during Wednesday Night Ministries to assist as needed.
