Purpose Statement: The purpose of The Forge is to challenge, encourage, instruct and utilize the gifts of the men in the body at WCC in Biblical manhood. For the men of our congregation, we desire to add to the given structures of our congregation, which exist to provide each individual with tools that they need in order to live a life pleasing to God. In every age, humanity’s sin has left its mark. Confusion concerning manhood is one such mark. The Forge will provide a place for the men of WCC to learn from the Word of God and from men around them about how to live as a Christian man. A man of God is one who follows the example of our Lord Jesus Christ. As we learn together and learn from one another, particularly from those who are a bit farther down the path of life than we may be, we are simply demonstrating the reality of our union with Christ. The goal, then, would be to see God create a growing number of men who are increasingly reflecting the image of Christ at home, work, in the church and the context where God has placed us.
The Men’s Breakfast and Devotion provides an opportunity for men to come together to eat and study God’s Word. Service opportunities will also be offered for the church and community. The Men’s Breakfast and Devotion events for 2013 are to be determined.
The Men’s Book Study allows men to grow spiritually and in relationships with each other in a small group setting. The Men’s Book Study meets Wednesdays from September – May from 6:30-8 PM at WCC.
Our current book selection: The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
