Welcome to West Cohasset Chapel’s (WCC) Home Group Ministry. Home Groups typically meet October-May, twice per month, and last about an hour and a half. The evening is structured with an equal amount of time in mutual care, Bible study and prayer.
There are currently nine Home Groups from WCC that meet throughout Itasca County (Cohasset, West Cohasset, Coleraine, Deer River and Grand Rapids). Each Home Group is led by an elder or leader of the church, and everyone is welcome to attend.
Home Groups consist of approximately 8-10 adults per group, and we encourage families to attend Home Groups together. Childcare is available at each Home Group. The invitation is always open for you to join a small group to study the Bible and grow in God’s truth.
Home Groups are studying the book by John R. W. Stott called, “2 Timothy—Standing Firm in Truth.”
For over fifteen years Timothy had been Paul’s faithful missionary companion and “fellow-worker”. When his first imprisonment was over, Paul left Timothy in Ephesus as a kind of “bishop.” Wide responsibilities were given to him. And, now still heavier burdens were about to fall on Timothy’s shoulders. For Paul was on the point of martyrdom, and then the task of preserving the apostle’s teaching intact would be his in greater measure.
The church of our day urgently needs to heed the message of this second letter of Paul to Timothy. For all around us we see Christians relaxing their grasp of the gospel, fumbling it, in danger of letting it drop from their hands altogether.
John Stott is one of the world’s leading and most loved Bible teachers and preachers. In this guide you can explore Scripture under his guidance, enhancing your own in-depth study with insights gained from his years of immersion in God’s Word.
If you would like to join a WCC Home Group, which you are invited to at any time, please fill out the form below and we will find a home for you and your family.
