Hello Friends!

You are almost there. You are in the home stretch of completing your school year. Whether in public, private or for those in home school, your summer vacation is within sight. It was about 253 days ago when the school year began. Think of all that's happened in those 253 days. Let's think together.

Yet He has not left Himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; He provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”  Acts 14:17

The Lord is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works.

Praise God

The Psalmist writes The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want. It’s a simple verse that expresses a profound truth. God is like a shepherd who cares for His sheep. He does this in three basic ways: He protects them, feeds them, and directs them.

If you take the 253 days since school started and multiply the number by three for three meals a day, that would be 759 meals God has provided for you during the school year. If you multiply 253 by eight, for the average amount of sleep we get a night, God gave you 2,024 hours of rest. The average person takes 23,000 breaths, which means God gave you the ability to take 5,819,000 breaths each day.

The ability to think, remember, analyze, decide, etc., all are gifts from God. No person gave themselves this ability.

It is true, The Lord is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works. (Psalm 145:9)

Thank Your Parent(s)

I am sure you are already doing this. Forgive me for the reminder. Your parent(s), with God's help, did a lot of day-by-day work for 253 days to help you have a good school year. They provide a home for all of you to live in, meals prepared, clothes provided, cleaned, etc. They work hard each day at work or home. They keep everything at the ready for you to have a clean, safe, and welcoming environment to live in.

It is not easy being a parent. I know from personal experience. I’ve been one for a long time. We are sinners saved by God’s grace in Jesus. A kind and truthful word from you may go a very long way.

Here’s a fun little song that may help you along the way!

What Will You Do This Summer?

Whatever your plans are, may God bless you in them. May they be filled with good, noble, adventurous, happy, interesting, fun, helpful Christ-centered things.

One privilege I have of being in one place for a long time is watching you grow up. Thank God, and thank you for that privilege.

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Pastor Joe
