Basics: Becoming a Member at WCC

Are you interested in becoming a member or learning more about WCC?

Join us for a four-week new member's class taught by Pastor Joe starting Sunday, October 13 at 9am in classroom 201.

Overview

West Cohasset Chapel’s (WCC) Membership class is a four-week course that gives an overview of who we are and what we believe as a Church.

Membership classes are currently offered twice each year. This is an ideal class for those who are new to WCC or those who have been attending for some time and would like to become a member of the Church.

At the end of the classes, individuals may then fill out an application and begin the process of becoming a member. (Attending the class does not obligate you to join, but it is required for membership.)

Membership Process at WCC

1. Attend WCC’s Membership class. In these sessions, we discuss what we believe at WCC and how we function as a Church. Completing the classes does not obligate you to join, but if you want to learn more about WCC, this is a very helpful tool. If you want to become a member, these classes are required.

2. You will need to have completed the WCC Membership classes, have been attending WCC for 90 days, and have completed a Membership application. You may fill this out and return it to the church office. An application will also be handed out at the end of the final membership class.

3. When we receive your application, we will contact you to schedule a membership interview with our pastor and elders. At this interview, we will have a meal together, setting aside time to hear your testimony of how you came to faith in Jesus Christ. The time will also include a Q & A session which allows for questions to be answered that you might have concerning the Church and membership.

4. After you have completed these steps, we will have time during a morning worship service for you to share how you came to faith in Jesus Christ to the congregation. Please note that if you think you will be unable to give your testimony publicly due to nervousness of public speaking, you may write down your testimony, and it will be read for you.
