A Prayer For You Today

January 30, 2023
We all have needs. To have a need is normal. It is not a defect. It is not a flaw. It is because we are most human when we are dependent on God.
Our dependence upon God to meet our needs is declared through prayer to Him in Christ's name.
I originally wrote this prayer in light of our current need as a church. However, it is for you to use, if you choose, as a help in your prayers for your own needs.
God and Father, thank You that You are sovereign over our lives and the affairs of Your church. The Psalmist tells us that Your thoughts about us outnumber the grains of sand on this planet. Thank you.
Remind us we are not left to ourselves; we will never be abandoned, and because of Jesus, we are never condemned, so our cries to You are never despised or ignored.
You are the God of all peace. The God of all hope. The God of all grace, and You are the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the head of the Church.
Therefore, we come to Your throne of grace and power, in Christ's name, with confidence not earned, not worked up in us, but given by You.
Father, please, for Jesus' sake, meet the need we have presented to You. Please equip us with everything good for doing Your will in this matter, and please work in us what is pleasing to You through Jesus Christ.
We have always been well cared for; we have never known want.
Therefore, we humbly ask You to please give us help and success in this matter. Father, please be attentive to our prayer, for Your name's sake act, and grant us mercy so that You will be glorified.
And in all of this, we are not asking for what we deserve. We are asking for mercy. What You give, and how you answer will not depend on our goodness but on Your grace.
In Christ's name and for His sake, we pray. Amen.
God bless you this week. You are so well loved by Him.
