My prayer for you today.
Father, no one is without sin. Perfection, in these bodies, will evade us until our exit out of this world. Therefore, we praise your great name for the mercy of imputed righteousness. We thank you for the certainty of forgiveness of our sins in Christ.
Two things I sincerely ask of you considering this reality.
One, please deliver us from sin’s power. We long to have holiness’s victory in ourselves more constantly realized—more wholly enjoyed. Strengthen us to that end so that every gain will lead us to worship of you.
Two, because we have and will sin, please give us the grace to live a more reasonable life of patience, forgiveness, repentance, acceptance, and understanding towards others. We do not want our quest for holiness to turn us into monsters, fill us with pride, anger, or arrogance. We want to be like Christ. Amen.
