A Prayer For You Today

Dear friends,

Happy Christmas week! Let us praise His name together for the glory of the Incarnation.

Man's maker was made man that He, Ruler of the stars, might nurse at His mother's breast;

that the Bread might hunger, the Fountain thirst,

the Light sleep, the Way be tired on its journey;

that Truth might be accused of false witnesses,

the Teacher be beaten with whips,

the Foundation be suspended on wood; that Strength might grow weak;

that the Healer might be wounded; that Life might die.

A prayer for you today.

Stir up your power, O Lord,
and with great might come among us. 

Because we are sorely hindered by our sins,
let your bountiful grace and mercy speedily help and deliver us.

May your bounty be our norm this Christmas season,

through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and forever.
Amen.
