Dear friends,
In our Baptism class yesterday, we had six lovely children (with their parents) who participated. In reviewing the truth of the Gospel from God’s word, we reminded ourselves in the gift of our salvation, we are holy in God’s sight, free, completely free, from all accusations. We thanked God together for such mercy.
A prayer for you today.
Almighty God and Father, we are loved with everlasting love,
clothed in eternal righteousness, our sense of justification unclouded.
How sweet is the glorious doctrine of election, when based on Your Word
and shaped inwardly within the soul!
I bless You that You will keep the sinner
You have loved.
If Jesus were not our righteousness and redemption,
We would sink into the uttermost hell
by our misdoings, shortcomings, unbelief, unlove;
If Jesus were not by the power of His Spirit
our sanctification,
there is no sin we would not commit.
All the good things in life are less than nothing
when compared with his love,
But Father, we could not long after Your presence
if we did not know the sweetness of it;
And such we could not know except by Your Spirit
in our hearts, nor love You at all, unless You
elect us,
call us,
adopt us,
save us.
