A Prayer For You Today

Dear friends,

If you have never read the Book of Common Prayer, it deserves a good look. This prayer book has been around for a long time, and barely a month goes by when I turn to it for aid.

As school begins, I wanted to turn our prayers to both teachers, staff, and students in this prayer, ending with a petition that Christ would be all and in all –all the time.

ALMIGHTY God, our Heavenly Father, who has committed to You Church the care and nurture of your children; Educate with Your wisdom those who teach, support, and those who learn; that, rejoicing in the knowledge of Your truth, they may worship You and serve You from generation to generation; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ, on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ, when I lie down,
Christ, when I sit down,
Christ, when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.”
