A Prayer For You Today

I sent this verse to my daughter last night. Today like many of you, she is back in the classroom. God will help her as He will help you- every day. I pray you will find tremendous encouragement in this truth, in or out of the classroom.

God and Father, You are the keeper of all creation.

You involve Yourself in all events.

You direct all things to Your appointed end.

For Jesus' sake, please have mercy on us this new school year.

Everything we need, we partially know, but You fully know.

And we would humbly ask for these things

as the new school year unfolds.  

We want to do well and live well this school year.

We want to be salt and light in all the different contexts we find ourselves.

We want to be kind and gracious, forgiving to others.

We want to be humble and wise and share with others.

We want to be good friends and good students.

Since You love us more than we do,

You care for us more than we do,

And since You are good Father,

Who gives us such personal care.

We ask this to the praise of Your glory,

Our community's good, and our good.

Amen.
