Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in Him, because we trust in His holy name.
Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in You.
Dear friends,
The closest English equivalent to the Hebrew word often translated as "steadfast" is grace.
Grace, in the bible, is God giving His people what they do not deserve and could never earn through Jesus Christ. Grace means that God’s fidelity to His covenant promises is stronger than our failures, stronger than our repeated failures, and in the resurrection of Christ, stronger than death itself.
May God’s grace abound over us so that we may live in His truth.
A prayer for you today.
His be the Victor’s Name
Who fought the fight alone;
Triumphant saints no honor claim;
Their conquest was His own.
By weakness and defeat
He won the glorious crown;
Trod all His foes beneath His feet
By being trodden down.
Long may my accuser roar
Of sins that I have done;
