You won’t go out in a rush,
nor will you run away,
because the one going before you is the Lord;
your rear guard is the God of Israel.
Dear Friends,
The time of God’s people’s exile had ended. In Isaiah 52, the people are told they will leave Babylon calmly and safely because God is leading them and He has their back. A fresh new beginning is coming, so put on your Sunday best and celebrate!
A prayer for you today.
Merciful God, You have gathered Your Church together in love and unity by Your Holy Spirit.
May Your grace and power be shown among all people, to the glory of Your name, for You are great and do wondrous things; You alone are God.
Let Your light shine in us so that others may see our good works and glorify You.
May all be done through Jesus Christ our Lord, the same yesterday, today, and forever.
The one whose righteousness endures forever.
The one who is gracious and merciful.
The one who is never moved, always steadfast.
The lavishly generous one.
The light dawning in the darkness.
As we go about this day, and as we soon will begin a new season, help us keep this picture of Jesus before us and be lovely transformed by Him, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
