Dear Friends,
The book of Revelation has been through its paces of earnest men and women trying to understand its message. However, one thing is clear. Revelation teaches us the songs of heaven.
The death of Christ on the cross is the great turn in the universe. Everything of the old creation is being laid to rest, and the new creation is coming. We are still waiting to see the entirety of this turn. Still, because God does not lie, we praise in expectation; Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.
May we praise our God together as we begin this first week of Advent.
A prayer of praise for you.
You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, for You have created all things, and because of Your will they were, and were created.
Worthy is the Lamb who has been slain to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.
Salvation to our God who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb.
Yes, Lord God Almighty,
true and just are your judgments.
Great and marvelous are your deeds,
Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways,
King of the nations.
Who will not fear you, Lord,
and bring glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come
and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.
Hallelujah!
Salvation and glory, and power belong to our God,
for true and just are his judgments.
Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory!
