A Prayer For You Today

Dear friends,

This past Sunday, we returned to our studies in Acts chapter 17.  The following prayer is how we began. It’s a big chapter, with much to teach us, beginning with myself.

A prayer for you today.

God and Father, thank You that the Gospel brings us all down to the same level, every one of us, and at the same time, by Your grace alone, brings us all up to the same level.

Father, You know the world does not think or work that way, and You know that, at times, we do not either.

We have bents. We have preferences. We have pride and selfishness that gets in the way and either forcefully or covertly promotes ourselves at great cost to others. However, thank You, in Christ, there is forgiveness for this, and there is help.

Thank You that the ground is level at the foot of the cross and thank You for what You require of us You have achieved for us; in the person and work of Christ alone, received by simple faith in Christ.

Finally, thank You because of what You have done, we have a new aim, a new objective. Father, if we are to get there, You will need to take us. Please take us for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

May we be given grace to love who Christ loves, in the way that He loves.
