A Prayer For You Today

Dear friends,

One Christmas, my wife and I gifted our son the book The Bread Bible by Rose Levy Beranbaum. The opening preface began, “Millennia ago, bread became synonymous with the absolutely essential. In ancient Egypt, the word for bread meant life.” For the Christian, Jesus is our life.

A prayer for you today

Gracious Father, 
whose blessed Son Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be the true bread which gives life to the world: 

Forever give us this bread, for there is no life apart from Christ.

Forever give us this bread, that He may live in us, and we in Him; 

who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, 
one God, 
now and forever. 
Amen.
