A Prayer (2)

April 27, 2026

His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.  Ephesians 1:19-21

Dear friends,

We are starting to begin our relocation in earnest. Each day moves us a bit closer to the place God is putting us.  Over the next few weeks our prayer in this letter will be in light of this.

A prayer for you today.

God and Father, we confess that we are a people who prefer what is familiar. Sometimes we think we are stronger, wiser, and more in control than we actually are. And so, a move might expose us: our anxieties, our impatience, our faith. We hope it won’t, but it might, therefore please have mercy on us—not because our plans are good enough, but because Jesus is.

Thank you that your grace does not relocate. Your presence is not chained to a building. You have bound yourself to your people in Christ, and where your Spirit dwells, there your church truly is. Therefore, as we pack, sell, repair, clean, carry, and make decisions, lift our eyes from the visible to the unseen.

Grant us your power, the same strength the raised Christ from the dead. Give our leaders courage, clarity, compassion, and the love of Christ. Give our congregation unity, flexibility, a glad heart to serve, and love that bears with one another.

Provide for us, we pray. Give us what we need—money and materials, willing hands and skilled minds, good choices, and timely approvals. Protect us from hidden problems. And as you provide, keep us from boasting in our resources or panicking from any lack. Teach us the freedom of dependence, so that our giving becomes worship and our planning becomes prayer.

Finally, Lord, make our new location a place of welcome and witness. Give us favor with our new neighbors. Let the weak find refuge, let the skeptical find honest answers, let the lonely find a church family, and let the proud meet the humbling grace of Jesus. Build your church in this next season—not on our momentum, but on the cornerstone, you have already laid— Christ.

We ask all this in the name of our Savior, who left His home to bring us to His, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

May God bless you and keep you in His love.
