A Prayer For You Today

Dear Friends.

I am hoping you are reading this fresh off a refreshing Memorial Day Weekend.

As we begin anew, as God’s dearly loved children, in a new place, it seems fitting to remind ourselves that every good thing begins with Christ.

A prayer for you today.

God and Father.

Take every care from the heart of your people; let not a single thought of mistrust abide with any one of us. May we simply lean on Christ as hard as we can, with a full weight of weakness and sin and need, and swoon away into His eternal love and there lie passive in His hand.

To know no will but His. To not be active until He makes us so by His own power. May our confidence become strong, our peace may be like a river, and our righteousness shine like the sun.

Guard us from the hunger to master all that should be approached with reverence.
Teach us the difference between wisdom and fixation, between faith and the will to control. When intellect is used as a weapon, forgive and soften us.

Keep us close to the cross, with great joy. For Jesus' sake. Amen.
