A Prayer For You Today

A Prayer (2)

June 1, 2026

Our love is alive, and so we begin.

From the Song, “Stumblin In”

Dear Friends,

And so, we begin, not really stumblin in but carried, guided, and placed in this new place by the very hand of our Heavenly Father. You are the light of the world; let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

A prayer for you today.

God and Father, You are the Lord of history and of our lives. Every true beginning rests in Your wise and loving providence. You have brought us here, not by accident but with care and intention. Before we dreamed of this work, You had already written it into Your story of grace.

Give us gentle humility. Guard us from believing that we are the ones who bring You into our neighborhoods. You have been here long before us. You have listened to every quiet prayer, noticed every hidden sorrow, and held every fear and joy in these streets and homes. Help us to come not as experts or owners, but as servants and friends, ready to give and to receive.

Root us deeply in the gospel of Your Son. Let the cross of Christ be our only boast and our steady center. Keep taking our hearts back to Jesus—crucified, risen, reigning, and returning. May His gentle and strong grace shape how we preach, serve, listen, suffer, and rejoice.

Lord Jesus, form among us a community that quietly and beautifully reflects Your kingdom. Give us love that is patient with weakness, quick to forgive in sin, and eager to help. Make our fellowship a place where burdens can be safely shared, tears are wiped, and joy is honestly celebrated.

Holy Spirit, please empower our witness in this new place. Open doors we would never know to ask for. Lead us to those who are quietly longing for hope. Give us courage to speak of Christ with clarity, and gentleness to speak of Him with warmth and kindness. Let our lives ring true, so that the beauty of Jesus is seen in both what we say and how we live.

Shape our prayers to be large and kingdom-minded, yet tender. May we grow in depth and breadth as a church. When our efforts feel small or fruitless, remind us that Your word never returns empty. When we are weary, draw us to rest in Your finished work and refresh us with Your nearness. Gently shield us from cynicism and bitterness, and keep our hearts soft before You, that every story of transformation leads us to deeper wonder at Your mercy and a quieter, stronger confidence in the power of the gospel.

Make this church a faithful, gentle presence in this community. May children grow up here hearing the name of Jesus with both reverence and joy. May the lonely be welcomed into loving families, the weary find strength, the wandering be tenderly restored, and the skeptical be met with patient, honest love. Let justice, mercy, community, and humility mark our life together, so that even those who do not yet believe may be able to say that Your people are a blessing in this place.

And, Father, keep our eyes lifted to the day when every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Let the hope of that day quietly sustain us in this one.

We ask all this in the strong and gentle name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

God bless you. Thank you for all the hard work this past month.
